group tours can be available from late May through early
Fall, depending on availability of guides. |

In 2012 the Visitors Centre will be staffed and
open on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from Victoria Day weekend
through Thanksgiving , 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and daily during July
and August.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Friends of Misery Bay
members for the coming year is tentatively scheduled for Saturday,
June 15, 2013, at 10:00 AM at the Visitors Centre.

Friends of Misery Bay is a registered non-profit charity devoted to supporting the Misery Bay Provincial Nature Reserve in its mandates of protection (especially of its rare alvar habitats), research and education (See alvar photograph below, sparse vegetation on limestone bedrock.). We are currently involved in:

extending and
improving hiking trails
-
hosting summer nature
events, such as "The Miniature World of Mosses"

surveying and
expanding park boundaries
-
selling gift shop
items (cards, hats, T-shirts, etc.) to raise funds for our projects
